Meditation - turn off fight/flight
A good guided meditation has many benefits to the mind and body.
Below you can click on a link that will take you to a guided meditation that will allow you to take a break from whatever is causing you stress, anxiety, or upset.
Einstein said many years ago:
"You can't think your way out of a problem at the level of mind in which it is created."
A lot people think the more they dwell on the problem, they will somehow think their way out of it. The other people try to avoid thinking about their problems and use certain "socially acceptable" strategies such as drugs and alcohol which may make the problem worse if used to excess. Drugs and alcohol and prescription medicine only provide symptomatic relief and sometimes the solution to the problem can become a problem as well.
You cannot be anxious and relaxed at the same time - it is physically impossible!!
Benefits of Meditation
Regularly listen to a guided meditation which takes you down into a mental and physical state of relaxation and you will change the set point in your brain. Somewhat similar to the idle speed in a car - there is a perfect level of activation in your brain that is not too slow or too fast. Regular meditation will reset it back to normal speed.
It will kick your brain out of the frantic state of fight/flight - and sometimes Freeze - and allow you to see your options more clearly by reactivating the executive frontal lobe that goes offline in fight/flight.
You will think more clearly and a lot of the symptoms of stress and anxiety we often self-medicate or throw pharmaceuticals at will drop off.
I send my clients to following guided meditation that has not only worked for me but hundreds of my clients.
